This workshop will provide an in-depth look into the 2020 Initial Practice-Based Professional Preparation Standards for Early Interventionists/Early Childhood Special Educators (EI/ECSE Standards birth through grade 3) with a focus on use of the Standards for different purposes (i.e., preservice preparation, professional development, policy, research). The relationship of the EI/ECSE Standards to the DEC Recommended Practices (RPs), and CEC High Leverage Practices (HLPs) will be discussed with examples of how they are currently being used together. Resources to support the use of the Standards, RPs, and HLPs will be shared. Participants will engage in several small group activities throughout the workshop.
