About me
Dana has been in the field of child health and development for over 35 years, as both a Registered Nurse and an Early Childhood Special Educator, working in emergency/critical care, pediatrics/ maternal-child health, and early intervention/home-visiting settings. Her current professional interests relate to the intersections of trauma and disability and the use of reflection & mindfulness in coaching & teaching practices.
Dana currently works with WestEd CCFS—Working Together for Inclusion and Belonging, were she serves as an Inclusion Support Specialist, Mentor Coach and trainer for the CA-CSEFEL-Teaching Pyramid and Beginning Together projects. She has been an adjunct faculty in both ECE & ECSE programs.
Dana is endorsed in California as an Infant/Family Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist (0-5) and Reflective Practice Mentor and is trained in the Child Trauma Academy's Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (Level ll). Dana likes to credit her three (now) adult children, one who has cerebral palsy, as her greatest teachers.
