About me
Kiersten Kinder, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of the Practice in Early Childhood Special Education at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She has recently coordinated large multi-year research studies to support implementation and sustainability of the Pyramid Model in PreK and Kindergarten in public schools. Previously, she worked as a Multi-Classroom Leader in an MNPS early learning center where she provided coaching support and school-wide leadership around implementing high-quality inclusive early childhood education, including the Pyramid Model. Dr. Kinder has served as the Associate Director of the Susan Gray School, an inclusive child care center and lab school for the Special Education department at Peabody College at Vanderbilt University. In addition, she has been a coach, trainer, material developer and researcher around the Pyramid Model and Practice-Based Coaching. Before moving to Nashville, Kiersten spent nearly ten years teaching in inclusive early childhood and state-funded pre-kindergarten classrooms in the Chicagoland area.
