I am the State Parent Consultant for Florida’s early intervention program, Early Steps, under the Division of Children’s Medical Services within the Florida Department of Health. I have served in this capacity since April 2021. Prior to my role at the state level, I spent 6 years working in one of the Early Steps local offices as a Family Resource Specialist. I represent families in our Early Steps Program, and through participation on various state and national groups. I am also a volunteer for my local Down syndrome organization, Manasota BUDS, and have served on the board of directors since 2016. My most important role has been raising two young and unique children with disabilities. I am the proud mother of a son who is autistic and a daughter who has Down syndrome. My children have taught me how to view the world from a different lens.
