This study examines the relations between child challenging behavior, parent confidence, and parenting stress in families with preschool-aged children with developmental delays. Results suggest parent confidence predicts lower parent stress, while challenging behavior predicts higher parent stress.

In this qualitative study, 19 participants engaged in one semi-structured interview. Thematic analysis (Braun & Clark, 2021) was conducted on participant responses. Findings show how educators define bilingualism, perceive bilingualism for children without and with disabilities, and to what extent their perceptions contribute to the recommendations they provide families.

The Use of Digital Therapies for Children with ASD: A Meta Analysis - Poster 12

This meta-analysis aimed to assess the effectiveness of digital therapies (DT) in improving developmental skills for children and adolescents with ASD. Results showed that DT has a statistically significantly large effect on enhancing social-emotional skills compared with other developmental skills. More studies involved elementary school-aged than preschool-aged children.

The purpose of the study is to systematically review literature focusing on caregiver-mediated interventions targeting emotional regulation in young children with ASD. Out of an initial sampling of 4,781 studies, 17 were eligible for review. The results showed that caregiver-mediated interventions positively affected emotional recognition skills in young children with ASD.

Twenty Years of Virtual Coaching with Families: What Have We Learned? - Poster 5

In this review of literature, we used the SCARF framework to assess overall quality and rigor of virtual coaching studies with families published between the years 2002-2022 involving children aged Birth-Kindergarten. Specific findings focused on the coach/coachee demographics, coaching strategies and dosage used, and measurement of maintenance and generalization.

Social validity assessment is vital for the survival of intervention programs. Stakeholders, including researchers, teachers, and parents, often acknowledge the importance of social validity. Research shows that less than 50% of studies published in peer-reviewed journals assess social validity. In this qualitative study, we examine researchers' views on social validity.
