Understanding Mother-Educators Raising Children with Disabilities

Despite legal mandates, family engagement in special education remains uneven, particularly across ethnoracial lines. Our study interviewed 25 special education professional mothers parenting children receiving part C and part B services. Findings underscore challenges faced by this group of mother-educators while advocating for their children.
