2024 Revised DEC Position Statement: The Role of Special Instruction in EI

We introduce the revised 2024 DEC Position Statement: The Role of Special Instruction in Early Intervention (EI) and discuss how it can be used in states and programs. We review a) how special instruction is defined, b) recommendations for professional preparation and qualifications of EI educators, (c) the role of EI educators, and (4) the uniqueness of the service.
